Fairleigh Dickinson University (D1 NJ) Adds Women's Lacrosse

HACKENSACK, N.J. – One week removed from announcing the addition of men's volleyball, Fairleigh

Dickinson University President Christopher A. Capuano and Director of Athletics Bradford D. Hurlbut are excited to announce that the department will also be adding women's lacrosse to the Knights' stable of programs. With this addition, FDU increases its sport total to 21 teams and becomes the first NCAA Division I institution in the 2020-21 academic calendar to introduce two new programs.

The Burgundy and Blue will compete in the Northeast Conference as the league's ninth women's lacrosse member. "FDU is proud and excited to welcome women's lacrosse, the 21st Division I athletic program on our Metropolitan Campus," said President Capuano.

"The introduction of this great sport, on the heels of the addition of men's volleyball, illustrates the strength and continued growth of our athletics program. An added benefit of these two new programs is their popularity within New Jersey and the possibility of keeping more New Jersey students close to home to study and compete."

Multnomah University (NAIA OR) Adds Lacrosse

Multnomah University is excited to announce the newest addition of Men's and Women's Lacrosse to the Athletics Department. The new programs' first seasons are set to start in the fall of 2021.

"I am absolutely thrilled to be able to bring on two more sports to our department!" said Athletic Director Michael Anderson. "Lacrosse is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country and it is gaining more traction in the northwest region and the Cascade Conference." Other members of the conference who also host lacrosse include Southern Oregon, College of Idaho, Eastern Oregon, and Corban. The NAIA currently houses 33 men's programs and 37 women's programs, and Multnomah University is honored to be a part of the early stages of the sport in this association.

"Exciting news for Multnomah on the addition of men's and women's lacrosse to their athletic offerings," stated CCC Commissioner Robert Cashell. "We are monitoring other schools in the league that either have or are considering adding and if we can get a core group of programs we certainly want to consider sponsoring as CCC sports."

D'Youville College (D3 NY) Adds Men's Lacrosse

D’Youville Athletics is proud to announce that Kameron Prince has been named as the first Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach. The Men’s Lacrosse program will have its inaugural season in the 2021-2022 academic year.

Director of Athletics Ona Halladay states, “I am thrilled to bring Kameron Prince on board as our first men’s lacrosse coach at D’Youville. I am certain that Kameron’s diverse coaching experiences and success recruiting around the country will be exactly what we need to begin building the foundation of the Saints Men’s Lacrosse program on our campus in the heart of Buffalo. I believe that Kameron’s energy will fit perfectly with our athletic staff and be integral in continuing to provide our student-athletes a best in class experience at D’Youville.”
