Sweet Briar College (DIII VA) to Close, End Athletics Programs

On behalf of the athletics department, I want to thank all of you for the outpouring of support and concern. The news of the college closing at the end of this semester has put some perspective on what we value here at Sweet Briar and Vixen Athletics—and it truly shows how wonderful you as supporters and fans are in our lives.

Our Sweet Briar student athletes, coaches and athletics staff are doing what they all do best—rising to the occasion of challenges that are before us. This semester and the spring sport season in particular, will be a new kind of challenge for sure. All of us at Vixen Athletics are committed to finish what we started and look forward to continuing with all of our scheduled competitions as a proud member of the NCAA and Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC).
