Stockton College (NJ DIII) & Caldwell College (NJ DII) Add Lacrosse

Stockton (N.J.) will be expanding its athletics offerings with the addition of women's lacrosse as an intercollegiate sport, the school announced on Tuesday.

Women's lacrosse will become the 18th varsity sport overall and 11th women's sport for Stockton Athletics. The timeline for implementing the Osprey women's lacrosse program includes the hiring of a full-time head coach this fall and the beginning of intercollegiate competition in Spring 2014.

Amy Rizzo has been selected to lead the new women's lacrosse program at Caldwell College, Executive Director of Athletics Mark A. Corino announced. Rizzo also will coordinate the recreation sports programs. Caldwell College will add women's lacrosse as an intercollegiate sport for the 2013-2014 academic year and compete in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference at the NCAA Division II level.

"Amy comes with a solid background in lacrosse," Corino said. "She was a successful Division I player, a head coach for a top high school program, and an assistant coach and recruiter for one of the best Division II programs in the country. Amy is tremendously energetic and excited about meeting the challenge of building a program, and we are glad to have her at Caldwell."
